WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Payless ShoeSource Recalls Girls Boots Due to Fall Hazard
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the firm named below, today announced a voluntary recall of the following consumer product. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Girls Boots Units: About 90,000 Manufacturer: Payless ShoeSource Inc., of Topeka, KS Hazard: The guitar-shaped zipper pulls on each boot can interlock while a child is walking, causing the child to trip and fall. Incidents/Injuries: Payless has received five reports of the zipper pulls interlocking, including one report of a four-year-old girl who fell and skinned her knees. Description: This recall involves black jeweled girls boots. The boots have a silhouette of a guitar on the outer leg and a guitar-shaped zipper pull on the inner leg. “Hannah Montana” is engraved on the boot outsole and a photo of the singer and show s character is printed on the box. The boots were sold in girls sizes 10 to 4 . No other styles or models are involved in this recall. Sold at: Payless ShoeSource stores nationwide and Payless.com from August 2007 through September 2007 for about $27. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should take these boots away from children immediately and return them to the store where purchased for a full refund or exchange. Kahoot Products Inc. Recalls Cub Scouts Totem Badges Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Cub Scouts Totem Badges Units: About 1.6 million Distributor: Kahoot Products Inc., of Roswell, Ga. Hazard: The surface paints on the badges contain excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Incidents/Injuries: None reported. Description: The recalled Cub Scout Totem Badges measure 4 inches x 3 inches with a square portion measuring 2 inches x 2 inches. The Boy Scout emblem is printed on the badge along with a wolf and bear. “PROGRESS TOWARD RANKS” is also printed on the badge. Sold at: Boy Scouts of America retail outlets nationwide from January 2000 through September 2007. Name of Product: Mini Zooper Doll Strollers Units: About 21,000 Manufacturer: Lan Enterprises, of Beaverton, Ore. Hazard: A child s finger can become caught in the rectangular metal clip or the black plastic side hinge, and this can sever a child s finger tip. Also, the strollers pose an entrapment hazard. Incidents/Injuries: Pottery Barn kids has received three reports of serious lacerations, including one partial finger severing on a 2 year old boy. Description: The Mini Zooper Doll Stroller has a silver metal frame with a bright pink cotton canvas seat cover. “Pottery Barn kids” is printed on a label on the canvas seat cover. Sold exclusively at: Pottery Barn kids retail stores nationwide, catalog and Web site from October 2005 through June 2007 for about $50. Manufactured in: China Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled doll strollers away from children and contact Pottery Barn kids for instructions on receiving a repair kit.
